Annual Shamrock Shuffle event planned in West Leechburg

The St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Shuffle 5K and one-mile Fun Walk will begin at 10 am March 12 at West Leechburg Fire Department Social Hall, 1116 Gosser St.

The course will run through the streets of West Leechburg and return to the fire hall. A virtual option is also available. Check-in begins at 9 am Cost is $25 for the live 5K, and $20 for the live Family Walk and both virtual events.

Participants must register by Feb. 25 to be guaranteed a race t-shirt. Costumes are encouraged and leashed furry friends are welcome. To register, visit runsignup.com/Race/PA/Leechburg/ShamShuffle. Support available for parents living in recovery

Wesley Family Services in New Kensington will offer a seminar series, “Families in Recovery: Strengthening Connections One Day at a Time,” from 12:30 to 2:30 pm Wednesdays March 2 through April 13 at the Pioneer Building, 1015 Fourth Ave.

The group is for parents and caregivers who are in recovery or experiencing issues with substance abuse. The class is for adults only and masks are required. Lunch will be served at noon.
