Diabolical Drops a Drug-Fueled Clip From Comics-Inspired Episode

The Boys Presents: Diabolical drops an official promo for the episode “I’m Your Pusher,” which is animated in the style of the original comic book.

Prime Video has revealed an official promo for “I’m Your Pusher,” an episode of its upcoming animated anthology series The Boys Presents: Diabolical.

diabolical spins out of Prime Video’s popular live-action superhero satire series TheBoys, which is itself based upon the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Each “irreverent and emotionally shocking” episode of diabolical is a standalone short film animated in a different style, with “I’m Your Pusher” taking its visual cues directly from Robertson’s work on the original comic. Ennis wrote the episode, which is directed by Giancarlo Volpe.

the promo itself follows TheBoys‘ brutal co-main protagonist, Billy Butcher, as he continues to wage war against corrupt superheroes. This time around, Butcher intercepts the supes’ drug dealer of choice, Oswald Deneeka, and “convinces” him to spike their stuff with a little something extra — with implicitly fatal results. Oswald and “Wee Hughie” Campbell seem horrified at whatever happens to the drug-crazed supe Great Wide Wonder off-camera, though Butcher doesn’t appear to be especially perturbed.

Set to premiere on March 4, diabolical features the voice talents of TheBoys stars Antony Starr, Elisabeth Shue, Chace Crawford, Simon Pegg and Giancarlo Esposito, as well as Kumail Nanjiani, Ben Schwartz, Michael Cera, Kenan Thompson, Kevin Smith, Don Cheadle, Andy Samberg, Aisha Tyler, Seth Rogen, Justin Roiland and many more. “Ever since we saw the animated film The Animatrixa series of short animated films set in the universe of The Matrixwe’ve wanted to rip it off,” producers Rogen and Evan Goldberg previously explained. “Today that dream has come true.”

Prime Video’s TheBoys dropped its first season in July 2019, with Season 2 following suit in September 2020 and Season 3 slated to arrive this coming June. In addition to the animated diabolical, TheBoys has a live-action spinoff series in the works, which will be based on the X-Men parody team known as the G-Men and take place against the backdrop of a college campus. The live-action spinoff still lacks a title, though it was officially ordered to series back in September.

The Boys Presents: Diabolical premieres Friday, March 4 on Prime Video. The animated series will run for a total of eight episodes. TheBoys Season 3 will then premiere on Friday, June 3.
