Artful Egg-stravaganza: Saturday, April 9, 1 to 5 pm, Walk In Art Center, 220 Parkway, Schuylkill Haven. Learn 11 different ways to decorate Easter eggs. There will be 15 to 20 different egg-decorating stations, kids and their parents can move around to each one until they have 11 eggs. Fill the final large egg with candy.

Wire Tree Workshop: Saturday, April 9, 11 am to 2 pm, Hawk Mountain Education Building, Kempton. Mark Golomb will guide participants in using steel wires to hand shape and twist into the form of a tree, followed by painting it and mounting it in a base. Cost is $60. Information: 610-756-6961.

Silver Creek Fire Tower Hike: Tuesday, April 5, 10:30 am Explore the mountain behind Locust Lake State Park and visit Silver Creek Fire Tower. The hike is 5 miles and moderate in difficulty. Hikers meet in the visitors parking lot at Locust Lake State Park before the contact station at 10:15 am Hike will start in another area. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed and get along with other people and pets. Bring a lunch.

Book discussion: The local history book club started by T102 Radio and the Schuylkill County Historical Society will discuss the novel “Dirty Mines: Coal Mining in Pennsylvania,” which depicts the lives of coal miners in eastern Pennsylvania, at 6 pm Wednesday, March 30.
