Author Carolyn Virginia Parnell was born and raised in Selma, Alabama, by her maternal grandmother. She now resides in Washington State. She raised five children and has always been heavily involved in her community de ella, serving on numerous boards and always striving to create positive change. She served on a mental health board for twenty-three years and served as a hospital Commissioner for eighteen years.
