SOAR at Garden

Come immerse yourself in the life of a tropical butterfly with South Coast Botanic Garden’s SOAR. Your journey begins as you step into the Host and Nectar Garden for an up close view of the butterfly habitat and the emergence of new species. Follow a guided tour as you interact with new tropical butterflies and view unique aspects of their lives. Build photo worthy experiences with these fluttering beauties of nature. HHW Roundup

Rancho Palos Verdes hosts a county-wide, household hazardous waste and electronic waste round-up at the RPV City Yard facility located at 30940 Hawthorne Blvd. The round-up is from 9 am to 3 pm There will be a temporary special event traffic control plan on Hawthorne Boulevard by the City Hall entrance and exit. Drive carefully. Due to COVID, there might be special safety protocol, such as mandatory face covering. For more information, go to RPVca.gov/calendar.

David Benoit Concert

The 32nd annual Seahorse Classic charity golf tournament will be held at the Palos Verdes Country Club and begins at 8 am Hosted by the Peninsula Committee Children’s Hospital, all proceeds benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The day’s activities include a shotgun scramble golf format, helicopter ball drop, longest putt contest, hole-in-one opportunities, post-round cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a raffle and a silent and online auction. Earth Day celebration

The Cities of Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills and Rancho Palos Verdes and Promenade on the Peninsula, is hosting an Earth Day Celebration, 3 to 6 pm Este free event will highlight great environmental initiatives around the community and provide opportunities to learn more about water conservation, storm water pollution prevention and energy efficiency. The event takes place at the Promenade on the Peninsula, on Silver Spur Road between Hawthorne and Crenshaw boulevards. All stores and restaurants will be open during the event.
