“Black Men In Blue” – 6:30 p.m. Monday. Haines House Underground Railroad Museum and the Ohio Humanities Council will present “Black Men in Blue,” a program by Walsh University professor of history Kelly D. Mezurek about Ohio’s Black Civil War soldiers at the Alliance Area Preservation Society’s annual meeting. The event is open to the public. One Book One Community Author Visit – 7 pm Thursday at Union Avenue Methodist Church with Arshay Cooper, author of the One Book One Community selection, “A Most Beautiful Thing.” The church is located at 1843 S. Union Ave. Cooper will talk about his life and his book. He will also answer questions and sign books during the free public appearance.
“Fashion of History” Exhibit – Through April 30. Exhibit is on display in Rodman Gallery. Sponsored by the Alliance Area Preservation Society, the exhibit matches styles from the 1800s through the 1970s with sites from around the Alliance where they would have been worn.
Seed Library – Through May 31. Rodman Library has partnered with StarkFresh to bring a Seed Library to Alliance. Patrons may browse through the catalog in the front lobby and take the free seed packets of items they are interested in growing. The free seeds are available while supplies last.

Strategy Gaming – 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. A variety of board games are available to play. A different board game is featured each month so that visitors can learn to play new games. Card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering are also available. Of course, families are welcome to bring in their own board games and cards to play.
