Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club to meet

BAXTER — The Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club will meet 6:30 pm Monday, April 11, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6190 Fairview Road, Baxter.

Our April program will feature Sue Golier, the new owner of The Cutting Edge Quilt Shop in Rush City.

Mask requirements were lifted, but given the state of health regulations, be prepared with a mask, in case the church has last minute updates to their mask mandate.

Brainerd Elks Lodge breakfast

Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615, 215 S. Ninth St., Brainerd, and new Exalted Ruler Bill Satre invites all to the community breakfast 8 am to noon Sunday, April 10.

Brainerd Elks Lodge Polish Sausage Feed

The public is invited to an all-you-can eat Polish sausage, sauerkraut, beans and bread feed from 11 am to 1 pm Wednesday, April 13, at the Brainerd Elks Lodge, 215 South Ninth St., Brainerd. Cost is $9.

Elks install new officers

Bill Satre has been elected Exalted Ruler to lead the charge for the 2022-2023 year. Angela Rach, Dan Graven, Jeremy Ciffra have been chosen by the Elks Knights to continue pursuing the Elks goal of “Meeting the Challenge.” Outgoing Exalted Ruler Denny Benjamin has assumed a trustee role while Shannon Dehen is secretary; Herman Wisneski, Treasurer; James Dehen, Esquire; Bill Bailey, Chaplin; and James Runberg, Inner Guard.

Mother’s Day tea canceled

DEERWOOD — The Deerwood Lakes Lions will not be having a Mother’s Day Tea this year, due to many illnesses in the club.

Crosslake Area Garden Club programs announced

CROSSLAKE — Crosslake Area Garden Club meets the third Wednesday of the month at 1 pm in the meeting room at the Crosslake Community Center.

The upcoming programs are listed below:

  • April 20 – Note Change – Preparation for the Plant Sale
  • May 18 – Potluck lunch starting at noon.
  • June 4 – We will be having our plant sale at the Crosslake Community Center 8:30-11 am
  • June 15 – “Bees, Butterflies and Hummingbirds” by Shelly from Landsburg Nursery

The annual meeting of the Bethel Cemetery will be 7 pm April 18 at the Bethel Church.

Pine River community Easter egg hunt set

PINE RIVER — There will be an Easter egg hunt at 10 am Saturday, April 16, at Forbes Park for children up to 12 years old. The hunt is sponsored by Pine River area churches and businesses.

Senior dances will be 1-4 pm Wednesday, April 13, at Waukenabo Town Hall with music by Andy Roskis; and 1-4 pm Friday, April 15, at the Deerwood Legion with music by Jerry B.
