Doctor Strange 2 Informs Loki Season 2, According to Writer

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron confirms the MCU Phase 4 sequel informs the events of Loki season 2.

The events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness report Loki season 2’s story according to writer Michael Waldron. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is leaning heavily into the concept of the multiverse. While other universes were teased before, Loki season 1 marked the first time that they were truly explored. The Disney+ show brought Tom Hiddleston back to play the god of mischief after Avengers: Endgame‘s time-travel plot left a version of Loki displaced from his time. The first season was a huge hit for Marvel and Disney. It became the first MCU show to receive a second season renewal, which will build on the multiverse story of Loki, Sylvie, and Kang the Conqueror.

Development on Loki season 2 has been underway for nearly the last year, but series writer Michael Waldron also has other responsibilities with the MCU. He was hired to help work on the script for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. despues de Loki season 1 saw the Sacred Timeline branch out into infinite timelines, the Doctor Strange sequel will see Benedict Cumberbatch’s sorcerer and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) entangled in a multiverse adventure. It was already known that Loki helped set up the events of Dr Stange 2but now it appears that the movie will also have an impact on season 2.

now that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ release is rapidly approaching, Michael Waldron is starting to do some press for the movie. During a recent interview with The Playlisthe was asked about the connectivity of the MCU and how his experience on Loki potentially helped him write Doc Strange 2. As part of his response from him, Waldron indicates that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness does inform what will happen in Loki season 2.

The headaches I have are probably intertwined. I mean, it’s all intertwined and it’s all stands alone. Like a great comic universe, I think that one thing certainly informs the other. You’re going to have a better time watching the next chapter of an MCU story if you’ve seen the stuff before it. But also, hopefully, even if you’ve never if you’ve walked in off the street, you’ll still have a blast. It should be good enough that it stands on its own.

Loki Episode 6 Post-Credits Season 2

Waldron understandably wouldn’t provide any details about how the projects could overlap. There have been rumors that Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie, and Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius have cameos in Doc Strange 2. If any of these characters — or even Kang the Conqueror — appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it will become quite clear how the movie reports the next season. If the cameos aren’t true, then the role that Sam Raimi’s movie plays in setting up Loki season 2 could be due to what happens with the multiverse.

The role that the multiverse plays in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki season 2 makes the connection they share understandable. Loki currently is in a timeline where Kang controls the Time Variance Authority, while Sylvie is left in the Citadel at the End of Time after killing He Who Remains. This does likely mean that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will end with the multiverse still around, as it would completely change the trajectory of season 2 that has been set up. With the movie’s release rapidly approaching and Loki season 2 expected to begin filming later this summer, it might not be too long before the connection between them becomes a bit more clear.
