Glaze a Pot for Mom: Saturday, April 30, 10 am to 1 pm, Walk In Art Center, 220 Parkway, Schuylkill Haven. The clay artists at the WIAC will fire it and put it in an organza bag with dirt and seeds and tie it up with a bow. Cost is $25. Register early there are limited spots available. Riverlands Wildflowers/Wetlands Walk: Robin Tracey will lead the hike on Saturday, April 30, at the Riverlands in Berwick. The trail is 5 miles long and easy. It runs next to the Susquehanna River, two ponds and a large wetland area. Participants will meet at Tuscarora State Park visitor center at 9:30 am to carpool or at the Riverlands Educational building at 634 Salem Blvd., Berwick, at 10:30 am Bring a lunch and water. History

“The Doctor’s Son”: John O’Hara’s short story about the 1918 flu epidemic, will be the subject of a meeting of the Schuylkill County Historical Society and the T102 Local Reads book club. Society volunteer Lisa Von Ahn will discuss the story and present historical context at 6 pm on Wednesday, April 27, at the society, 305 N. Center St., Pottsville. Online access will be available.
