Check out Worcester library for Friday night libations and mini golf

I’ve never been more popular with the teens and tweens. Aside from pedaling a rich assortment of ebooks and audiobooks, I am happy to report that kids are eager to get their hands on IRL volumes right now. Perhaps all that pandemic screen time finally caught up with them. The national outcry over book bans hasn’t hurt either. Suddenly, reading feels rebellious.

In my six years as a licensed school librarian, I feel lucky that no one has requested to remove a title from my collection. Many of my fellow librarians have not fared as well across the country. Sharing isolated passages from challenged books on social media makes stirring up controversy relatively easy for anyone with a WiFi connection. Trust me, banning a book only makes kids want to read it that much more.
