Summer movies in the park: June 10, 9 p.m., Dorothy Olson Aquatic Center. Willmar Parks and Recreation free movie night presents Disney’s “Luca.”

Bike/walk trail: June 11, 10 am, Sibley State Park beach parking lot. Celebration of the completion of the bike/walking trail connection between Sibley State Park and the Glacial Lakes State Trail. Bring your bike to ride the trail or enjoy a trail hike. No state park permit required to attend.

West Central Dairy Days: Open house, June 11, 10 am to 1 pm at the Gene Gatewood farm, 7130 90th Ave. SE, Willmar.

Community Day event: June 17, 5 to 7 pm, Bill Taunton Stadium. Fifth annual event featuring emergency vehicles, dunk tank to “dunk a cop,” drunk goggle pedal car course, rollover vehicle crash simulator and more outside the stadium. Miles4Mentors fun run check-in is at 4:30 pm and the run at 5:30 from the parking lot. Sponsored by local law enforcement agencies, Willmar Police Department, Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Veterans Gone Fishing: June 13, 11 am light lunch, 12:30 pm leave for Green Lake for afternoon boat ride and fishing with the Let’s Go Fishing group. Open to all veterans, spouses and families. Space is limited, call Community Center to sign up.

WILLMAR — The Willmar Library is open from 9 am to 8 pm Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 5:30 pm Friday and 9 am to 4 pm Saturday. The website is www.willmarpubliclibrary.org. Call 320-235-3162. Curbside pickup remains available during regular hours. Programs are in person in the library. The WiFi can be accessed 24/7 from a parked car in the lot behind the library or in front of the building using your library card or through Overdrive.

Grow a Monster storytime and answer: June 7, 10 am Do you think you can grow the biggest zucchini in the area? Kandiyohi County 4-H is hosting a monster zucchini contest this summer. This will be a fun activity for any age, and the more people who join, the more fun it will be. Find out who grew the monster zucchini at the Kandiyohi County Fair in August.

Backyard Scientist Take-Home Kit: June 13, best for ages 5-12. Explore nature in your backyard, neighborhood or local park. Twenty kits will be available. Advance registration required.

Teen Take & Make Crafts: June 6 opens for rock cactus planter and June 20 opens for dinosaur keychain. For ages 12-18, limit one per person as supplies are limited. Sign up on the library website.

Adult make-and-take: Crafts are posted on the website as they are available. Origami Stars opens June 13 and Sun Prints open June 27. For ages 18 and over, limit one per person, supplies limited, sign up on the library website.

Teen lit loot: Sign up and you will receive a library book based on your interests and a bag of goodies to go with it. One per month and you will need to re-register each month. June’s theme is adventure.

Book to librarian: Set up an hour long, one-on-one appointment with a librarian for help with computer skills, tablets, research and more. Appointments can be made in person by calling 320-235-3162 or online on the library’s website under adult services.

Makerspace Equipment: Cricut, Dremel Stylo, button maker, jewelry stamping and sewing machine, equipment must be used in the library and consumable materials are not supplied. Makerspace users must agree to the Makerspace Policy and complete training on safety and equipment use. Make reservations on the library’s website under adult services.

Robbins Island: Destination Playground; 18-hole disc golf course starts north of playground; swimming is allowed during daylight hours, no lifeguards; North Business Highway 71, Willmar.

Rice Park: Splash pad and changing rooms, 10 am to 8 pm daily, 805 Third St. SW Open through Labor Day.

Grind Central Skate Park: Open during daylight hours, Swansson Fields; southwest Willmar.

Archery Park: Open during daylight hours, located on 19th Avenue Southeast across from Walmart. Seven shooting lanes ranging from 10 to 70 yards. For all ages but children under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
