Summer is a fun time at the library! The library staff is busy getting things ready for Summer Reading 2022! Each staff member brings a unique set of talents to the library. We are so thankful for the wonderful staff we have and being able to see their talents shine. This year’s Summer Reading theme is “Read off the Beaten Path.” We are excited to explore some new programs. We have something for all ages and are excited to see you. Our Summer Reading Kick Off party is Saturday, June 4 from 2-4 pm We plan to have an ice cream party with lawn games and activities. Patrons will have an opportunity to sign up for the Summer Reading Programs.
Here are some of the programs that the library is offering this summer.
Books with Friends: Books with Friends is all about reading while having fun! Ages: 7-12. When: Every Monday in June and July from 1:30-2:30 pm No program July 4. Bring your favorite book and join your friends for reading and activities during this new program at the library! The first half of the session will be reading and discussing books and the second half will be an activity that coordinates with our Summer Reading theme “Read Beyond the Beaten Path.”
Storytime: Ages: children up to six years old with a caregiver. When: Every Wednesday in June and July, starting June 8, from 10:15-11:15 am Join us for storytime this summer at the library. Each week will feature a different book and activity that coordinates with the Summer Reading theme “Read Beyond the Beaten Path.” This summer we will go on a bear hunt, have fun playing with water, learn about constellations and more!
Macramé Wristlet Workshop: June 14, 4 pm Ages: 13 and up. Create your own macramé wristlet with Catherine from The Urban Art Studio! She will teach you three classic macramé knots and you will have your choice of colors from an assortment of ropes. This is a beginner-friendly class.
Secret Garden Tea Party: Saturday, June 25 from 10:30-12:30 pm Enjoy tea and treats and make your own Secret Fairy Garden. All ages welcome! Under 10 years old with a caregiver.
Storytime with Pam Tobler: July 16 at 10:15 am All ages welcome! Join local author Pam Tobler as she reads her de ella latest picture book “Lily the Ladybug: Day at the Park.”
The UnBook Club: Thursday June 23 and Thursday July 21 from 4-5 pm Ages: 13-19. Do you want something new to read and don’t know where to start? Do you read a particular genre of book that you love and want to share with others? Don’t like to read? That’s okay! Do you have a favorite audiobook? A podcast you can’t go without? A TED Talk you love? We want to hear about those too!
Morning Book Club: They meet the last Wednesday of the month at 10:15 am Stop by the library to check-out your book.
