Fundraiser to benefit local first responders
Back the Blue Alle-Kiski Valley will sponsor its third annual Back the Blue concert from 1 to 8 pm Saturday at Mogie’s Irish Pub, 3210 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell.
Musicians scheduled to perform include John Melnick, Mad Alice, Dimwit, Big House Pete and Miss Freddye’s Blues Band. A special event T-shirt designed by local artist Larry Klukaszewski will be sold and there will be a 50/50.
Proceeds will be donated to local police departments, first responders and Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
Plant expo planned Sunday at Tour-Ed Mine grounds
A plant festival, “A Planty Affair,” will be from 10 am to 4 pm Sunday at the Tour-Ed Mine, off Bull Creek Road, Fawn.
There will be vendors, a children’s activity table and displays. A raffle will benefit the Tour-Ed Mine and Museum and a local family in need.
